Message What you're saying is not actually what happened. I wrote all of the details in a followup email that I sent to you, but I did not post all of this information in my first post due to the fact that the post was already pretty long and I figured people wouldn't want to read it. But if you're going to try and make me look like I've done something wrong here, I'm going to call you on it. Here's parts of that email:

--------------------
John, you seem to remember what happened a little differently from how I remember. I was not standing next to you and Jeremy while you eyeballed it. If I had been, I can assure you that I would have asked one of you to actually take the 30 seconds necessary to measure the distance between my calipers and my wheels. What actually happened is that you and I were at talking at the front counter and I told you that I wanted the big brake kit. I told you that I wasn't sure which spacers I needed and I asked you if I should measure them myself or if you could do it, since my car was already in the shop, up on a lift. You said that you would look at it and tell me which spacers I needed. Later on, we were both in the shop, you were sitting down at the computer and I was standing next to you, when you told me that I needed 5 mm spacers. I asked you if you were sure and I explained how I really didn't want to do my brakes and get stuck because I had the wrong spacers. I also said something about the fact that I'd like to spend as little as possible, but I'd also rather spend money now instead of getting stuck later. You told me that you had looked at my car and that I should be fine with the 5 mm spacers. So, then I confirmed that I would not need extended studs and you told me that my existing studs should be long enough.

If our interactions had occurred as you said, with you and Jeremy eyeballing it right in front of me, I would absolutely agree with your opinion that you shouldn't be liable for this. But that is not what happened. I was not there when you looked at it and I had no reason to believe that you didn't just take the 30 seconds or so that it would have taken to grab a ruler and get an accurate measurement. I think that it was perfectly reasonable for me to assume that you had actually measured it. If you didn't feel like taking 30 seconds to measure to save me hours of work, you should have at least told me that you were just only guessing.

As far as liability, of course if I were to sue you in court, I would lose. I realize that you sold me the wrong thing and now you're willing to give me credit towards something else. Legally, you're doing everything you need to. But from a customer service standpoint, your stance on this issue really sucks. If Z1 cares at all about showing appreciation to their customers, here's what should have happened: First off, you should have measured. But since you didn't, when I called yesterday, you should have immediately apologized for my inconvenience and told me that you would happily ship me the correct items at no cost to me.

In your post, you wrote "We mentioned that it would be a while on the studs, but never mentioned a definitive date on how long it would be."

--- It is true that you did not mention a definitive date, although you did say it should be 2-3 weeks and 3 weeks has already passed since you said that.

Later, you wrote "Today you called here with an aggressive demanding attitude after we've told you that it will be a few more days for the parts we offered to give you (that you never paid for to begin with)."

--- Let's check the timeline here as the order of the words in this sentence should be switched. First, after three days, I received no reply to my email asking about the availability of the studs. (Remember, you told me in person to send you an email.) Since I had not received a response, I politely called today with a relatively calm attitude. You never told me it would be "a few more days for the parts". You actually said that the parts had been ordered, but you had no idea when they would get there. I assume the parts were ordered at least 3 weeks ago. If not, why not?

I did not ask for a refund, until the time it would take to receive the studs came into question. At this point, when Josh told me that he would not accept a return on a used part (with 0 miles), I still remained calm and only demanded what should have been provided from the beginning. In no way, did I deserve to be hung up on.
